This is a nationwide festival of worshiping ancestors. This activity of sweeping tombs and worshiping ancestors is locally called "Baishan" (paying homage to ancestors in their graves). Tomb-Sweeping Day is the important day for ancestor worship, when the offspring of all clans will gather in their respective ancestral temple to worship their ancestors and then go to sweep their tombs, which is commonly known as "Bai Taigong" (worshiping forefathers). The villagers will "pluck thin evodia leaves and turn them into flour dumplings, which are then steamed and offered to their ancestors as sacrifices."
