A Red Study Tour: Exploring Red Relics, Extending the Spirit of Revolution

发布时间:2023-11-02

To enrich the summer vacation for young students and instill in them a deep sense of patriotism and love for the Party, we worked with Cuiheng Primary School to organize an “Exploring Red Relics, Extending the Spirit of Revolution” red study tour on July 13, 2023. Twenty-five students from the school participated in this inspiring event.

Guided by the museum staff, the students and teachers paid their respects at the Former Residence of Yang Yin and visited the Yang Yin Memorial Exhibition. They gained profound insights into the historical and familial background of this great martyr and learned about the development of his heroic character. The students were inspired by how he fearlessly pursued truth, made great sacrifices, and prioritized collective welfare over personal gain. Standing before exhibition panels that depicted historical events like the Canton-Hong Kong Strike and the Guangzhou Uprising, the museum staff skillfully narrated the stories, breathing life into the weighty history and presenting the emotions of the historical figures. This engaging approach brought the students closer to the martyrs, allowing them to better understand the beliefs and aspirations of the CPC members.

In the Comprehensive Report Hall, the museum staff meticulously recounted the significant milestones in Yang Yin’s life and studied the letters he wrote to his children. The students were deeply moved by the lofty idea of “defending beliefs with one’s life” and Yang Yin’s selfless dedication to the revolutionary cause. As the session concluded, the thought-provoking question “What makes a hero?” was raised to encourage the students to think and share their own perspectives.

Additionally, the students from Cuiheng Primary School participated in our “Straw Regeneration” farming experience. They learned to build thatched huts and make straw ropes, embracing the laborious process under the scorching sun with unwavering determination. After overcoming various challenges, the students successfully completed the tasks, gaining a profound appreciation for the painstaking effort required to accomplish achievements, much like the struggles faced during the revolution.

This event effectively harnessed the red resources of our museum, revitalizing the revolutionary relics and evoking a deep emotional connection among the youth. By immersing themselves in history to understand the true spirit of the revolution, the students had a unique and meaningful experience that will stay with them for years to come.
