Dear Mr.Chung，
I have been asked by Mr.Leong C.Wing formerly a Shipping Clerk in this consulate， to give him an introduction to you as he is desirous of seeking employment on the staff of the Shanghai-Nanking Railway.Mr.Wing was employed at this consulate for over thirty years and retired on a pension in 1904.During this period he showed himself a most capable trustworthy man， and he possesses a through knowledge of English as well as of most of dialects spoken in various parts of China.Although no longer a young man， he is still… and assures in… he is… capable of doing good work as an interpreter or in a clerkal capacity.

梁爵荣先生，曾任领事馆船务文员，向我提出请求，希望我把他推荐给您，以求得一份沪宁铁路局的工作。梁先生在领事馆工作超过30年，1904年退休，靠养老金生活。在此期间，他展现出自己是一个最有能力、最值得信赖的人，而且他精通英语和大部分中国各地使用的方言。虽然不再是个年轻人，但……无论作口译工作或办事员，他都能干得很好。
