November, 25th,140, Harley Street

Dear Dr.Sun,

We had a reporter from the Robe Herald two days up, and he told my husband that the Japanese would back you before anyone in China. We were delighted to hear that & wanted to telegraph you to that effect but feared to make your name too public.

This reporter was told to send the Robe Herald all items of news he could get about you & to telegraph up to the sum of £100.So you see how important they considered your position.

Now that you have gone, it seems very quiet, but our interest will never wane of course, & we shall watch you through your career with affectionate memories.

I am enclosing a letter to General Homer Lea.It was sent to me by Mr.Irain who is “Seribuers'” Manager. He told me to forward the letter so I send it to you.I have not read either letters as I felt it was not my business but sealed both down & you can give them to him.

All our friends have been so excited now that the news of your being here has flown from lip to lip.Everyone believes in you, and they wish you great success in the future.

With our kindest regards.

Yours sincerely,

Mabel Barclay Cantlie

Reith says that in India, you have caused much excitement, and he wishes you good luck.
