Liang Yung Hwang, Esq.,Chinese Consul,William Street, MELBOURNE.

Sir,

With reference to the Revolution in our Country, we notice that whenever the daily papers here report favorably about the Manchurian Government, or any success gained by the Imperial Troops you hoist the Dragon Flag at the Consulate.

In showing sympathy with that despotic and corrupt Government you are exceedingly disrespectful to the Republican feeling of the Chinese Residents in Australia. We consider it is highly bad taste on your part to try and uphold that hateful Flag, under which, no doubt you are aware, our nation has been humiliated and our people never enjoy any freedom. The very sight of it makes every true Chinese's blood boil.If you wish to remain a Servitor under the Manchus we suggest that you should return to Pekin at once as you might be able to render more service to them when our Republican Army marches triumphantly into that City.

We wish also to remind you that the Canton Province (where all Chinese Citizens in Australia came from)has already disavowed the Manchu Government.

Yours etc.,

SECRETARY
