Dear Sir，
It seems to me that under the new order of things in China， a rapid adoption of western methods will be a marked feature， and in no direction more so than in the public building and homes of the people.
I am an English man， 42 years of age， 10 years of which I have lived in America.
My life has been devoted to acquiring a knowledge of building materials construction & also of the most approved methods of drainage & sucker constructions.I am desirous of going to China & helping in the good work you have undertaken.
Will you kindly give me an appointment under your government? I can furnish references & give details as to practical experience & my ability to control cheaply & efficiently any building operations in all departments.Trusting to hear from you consulate at an early date.
