Dear Dr.Sun Yat-sen，
Allow me to congratulate to you most heartily in having succeeded to create a republican government， which in my opinion is the most suitable for China.You have been working very hard， indeed， and for a space of more than thirty years， in order to establish a pure Republic for the happiness of China， owing to your sincere speeches which have been a good and faithful advice to Chinese people， who finally understood that the best system for China would be Republic， I am quite convinced that the whole population of China will be eternally graceful to that Republican creator， who is Dr.Sun Yat-sen.On this occasion， I beg to mention that you have been the first man in making China to become a democratic government.
I have been extremely delighted to read recently， that you are elected as President of the Republic of China， therefore， I sincerely hope， that Peking will be evacuated as soon as possible for the benefit of China， please excuse the liberty I take， in addressing to you these lines.Additionally that I was educated in Hong Kong Government Central School， my name in school was Ng A-ti， one of your schoolmate， I remember one of my school fellow and classmate， whose name is Mr.Yang Hop-chi who also was one Anti-Manchu dynasty.I am sorry to say that this gentleman was lost in Hongkong， I beg still to observe that I have in Chinese maritime Customs service as Chinese clerk and occupy this position for thirty one years.

尊敬的孙逸仙博士：
谨热烈祝贺您成功地建立起一个共和政府，在我看来它是最适合中国的。三十多年来，为了中国的幸福，为了建立一个纯粹的共和国，您努力奋斗。归功于您诚挚的演说，这对中国人民是一个良好而热情的建议，他们终于明白对中国最好的制度是共和，我十分相信，所有的中国人民都将永远感激共和国的缔造者，这就是孙逸仙博士。在此，请允许我提出，您是第一位将中国变成民主政府的人。
最近我很高兴地听到，您当选中华民国总统，我真诚希望北京会很快退位，请原谅我冒昧给您写下这些文字。我在香港中央书院读书，我在学校的名字是“Ng A-ti”，您的校友。我记得我的同学中有个叫杨贺次的，他也是反对清政府的。很遗憾他在香港失踪了。请注意，我在中国海关担任中文书记员，在这个位置干了31年。
