Said HashimCABLE ADDRESS

GENERAL COMMISSION AGENT.Hashim Yokohama

P.O.BOX NO.47

YOKOHAMA JAPAN

Yokohama, Jan.9, 1912

Dr.Sun Yat Sen,Shanghai.

My dear Doctor,

Knowing through the newspaper, that you are elected to, what I consider, the greatest, most honorable & exacted position on the globe, I.E.representative of four hundred millions of your countrymen, where as the president of the United States is head of ninety millions only, & the rulers of Europe are not elected by vote but their persition is hereditary, I could not keep pending you a cable gram this day with the one word, “Congratulations”.

I do indeed congratulate you with my whole heart, & I fervently pray that your rule may be a beneficent one & that you are desired ever for higher honors than the most honorable one, “President of Greater China”, I.E.the affectionate regard of your people.

You may not remember me, but I am the man who had the pleasure of having dinner with you at the house of See Kun Shee, No.165 Yokohama, now 15 years ago, & I promised you then that if ever I could serve you I could, & I now reiterate, that promise & assure you if I can serve you in any way, I will do so, gladly and willingly, and I can supply you with modern arms,—not artillery—cheaper than any other firm in the world.

If I can be of any service to you in this respect, please send me a wire & I will come & see you.

I am not an officer seeker, I am independently wealthy & am not looking for any favor, but I would be glad of an opportunity to show my desire to be of service to you.

Wish my profound expression of respect.

I have the honor to be,Sir,Yours most respectfully,

Said Hashim
