To Dr.Sun Yat Sen,Nanking.
Dear Sir,
I send a Registered letter, address to you to Shanghai, some weeks ago, and hope it has reached you safety. In it you found my two designs, one for a National flag for the Chinese Republic, the other a coat of Arms for the new Republic. As mentioned then, I am no artist, nor have I had the right materials. The enclosed Duplicate of the above referred to design have the bright red and green colours, as suggested in my last letter.
I mentioned already that the Flags of other Nations are so much alike in the distance, and many are copies of another. The only thing to mention yet is, that the shape of shield for the Coat of Arms also is quite unique, and not used by any other nation. The Rising Sun could be used over the shield, in place of a crown. As mentioned in last letter, the stars in the flag and shield could be longer in proportion, so as to have as many points as there are states in your Republic.
With very best wishes.
I remain,Yours faithfully,
R.Tudor
