Dear Pres.Sun：
I take this my first opportunity of congratulating you upon obtaining your service as the First President of the Chinese Republic.
I wish to express to you my appreciation of you ability and success， to propagate your mission to free the Chinese people.To those who do not know you it may seem remarkable that so important a post should be entrusted to one as yourself; but for those who like myself， have had opportunities of reading and frequent hearing my parents (Young It & Tom She）spoken about you as a man doing a clear—headed style of action and possessing splendid political capacity， it is easy to see that at present a better man could not have been selected for the place.I hope some day to see you successfully in establishing China into a great republic， in which my parents and brother joint me.Desiring for you all success.With compliments of the season.

尊敬的孙总统：
首先，我借此机会祝贺您担任中华民国第一任总统。
我想表达我对您能力和成就之欣赏，宣传您解放中国人民的使命。对那些不认识您的人而言，如此重要的岗位托付给这样一个人可谓不同寻常；但对于那些像我一样的人而言，我有机会读到并频繁听到我父母提起您（杨依和汤姆西），他们称赞您行动起来头脑清晰，具有卓越的政治才能。很明显，目前没有更好的人能被选来担任此职位。我希望有一天能看到您成功把中国建成一个伟大的共和国，我的父母和兄弟也同样如此。祝愿您成功。
