Your most honorable sir，
Pardon me for every as bold as to write to you direct.
But as I am very much interested in you and your country， and am sorry to read of the great calamity that is spread over so noble a country.But I pray for a speedy settlement & that peace & good will & a fair government will be more than response & satisfaction to all concerned. I am myself a sergeant in the British army with close on 12 years service of experience both with raw recruits (over 5 years）& trained soldiers in drill， musketry & discipline & the general routine of every day life but I am very ambitious to get on in further promotion & pray to you for an opportunity to allow me to serve you & your country either at present or in the near future & I but humbly pray for your welfare & success in the great task you have undertaken & will be looked upon by the great Empire as a great & noble reformer & your services recognized by one & all.

Passed forpromotion in drill etc.
Passed two courses of musketry Infantry (England & India)
Passed a musketry course (school of musketry at Satara)
Passed a maxerm machine gun course (school of musketry Satara)
Passed qualified in the 03 course of Gymns (aldershot)
Passed also few physical culture 1908 course (mauritins)
Have also a little knowledge of hindustani
Have also seen active service in South Africa
Had over 10 years experience of a non commissioned officer
Imperate habits， non smoker， & of a cheerful disposition
Consider the comfort & welfare of the M.C.O's & men under my charge
