Dear Dr.Sun Yat Sen,

I have seen with great pleasure the telegraphic announcement that you have been elected President of the New Chinese Republic, please accept my sincere congratulation for you having succeeded in your life work and that you have been rewarded for your great work in having had the belive of state placed in your hands, I feel the greater pleasure in knowing that it could not be placed in worthier hand knowing you as I do.I feel confident that whatever you may direct will be down well & trusting that thing will shortly be entirely under your control with China at peace.With all I would and trusting that you will have long life and happiness.
