Dear Sir，
As an Australian and knowing you people as I do， after a residence of six years in Canton， I hereby offer you my services gratis， for what ever period you wish， as a riding instructor or to don the Chinese uniform & go to the front， I might tell you that the hearts of the Europeans are with the revolutionists; but few of them are favored enough to armed out and say so.I am not afraid because I have never been a registered British subject in China.
If there is anything I can do to push the interests of right， please advice me and I will do what is in my power.
