SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, FEB.22nd, 1912
Dr.SUN YAT SEN,President, Chinese Republic,NANKING, CHINA.
My dear sir:
I am desirous of securing a position in China under the new Government which you are organising.I am a native of Great Britain, but have been a Resident of California for over twenty years and I think I may say without egotism that I am competent to fill any office position, whether secretary to the president, foreign correspondent—anything else of a similar character.
If you will good enough to file my application, and write me in acknowledgment thereof intimating at the same time what you consider are the prospects in the line suggested, I assure you that I will appreciate your kindness.
For your private information I may say that I am at present the STATE GRAND SECTARY of the STATE GRAND LODGE OF THE LOYAL ORANGE INSTITUTE of AMERICA, and that besides I am a member of the OAK GROVE LODGE of F.& A.MASONS of ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA.
Awaiting the favor of your esteemed reply.
I have the honour to be,My dear sir,
Most respectfully,
T.W.Duncan
P.S.For your further information I may say that I have for some years been connected with that great newspaper, the San Francisco Examiner as its special travelling representative.
