To the President of Republic China.
Sir，
Your most faithful people beg to report that I am a studentof Queen's College， Hong Kong， and a graduate of Polytechnic College， Nanking.But I had have the revolutionary thinking and subject as long as eight years now.When I got bad lose at “An Hwei” for help Mr.Chu Sih Ling as that while who is not from perfectly there， then I came down to Nanking and took the examination of customs house of Nanking， which I got appointed an officer's rank of Sidewaiter by Mr.Commissioner “Stelinamin's” order and report for duty on the 23rd, October 1907 and employed to wait till the day 22nd October 1911 in such period.I gave my application to report to the Commissioner Mr.“R.DeLuca” to resign this service for reply my proper subject， and left Nanking customs， I went to Chin Kiangto see Mr.Ling Suh Ching， from whom I got the work of Diplomatical department as long about one month， the Bureau has changed shorter and smaller， it is still finished at last week.Now I living in the Hotel Shanghai， nothing to do at all.Our New Republic China established and the the custom's flags are all full up the most in new colour， so， I think， I will rejoin the custom's service again if I can.I am very sorry to say that I have so poor bad fortunity now， but how can I turn back my works of customs.Will please kindly let me have any works to do in the the custom house or post office.
Therefore I can rest my heat mind in these years to our New Republic China.If you can grant what I report also to save me with many thanks.If you have the reply， please send to Mr.“Chao Nien Boh” hands to me.

致中华民国总统。
先生：
您最忠实的同志跟您报告，我是香港皇后学院的学生，曾毕业于南京理工学院。但早在8年前就怀有革命思想和关注革命问题。我在安徽帮助徐锡麟先生，惨遭失败，因徐也不是安徽本地人。之后我就下到南京，参加南京海关署的考试。我被署长任命为文案副官，聘期从1907年10月23日到1911年10月22日。在此之后，我以正当事由向署长吕卡先生提出辞职申请，离开南京海关。我到镇江探望凌苏青先生，他帮我在外事处谋了一份差事。约一个月后，该处开始裁员，直到上周关闭。现在我住在上海酒店里无所事事。我们的新共和国成立了，海关的旗帜也换了，所以如果可以的话，我想重新加入海关。很抱歉，我现今碰上如此可怜的坏运气，不知怎么才能让我回到海关工作。请允许我在海关或邮局工作，任何职位都可以。
