To the President，Republic of China.
Dear Dr.Sun，
At a meeting last evening of quite a number of gentlemen I spoke of the plan to send a strong moral appeal from the president of the Republic to the British Nation.They thought it would be of great value to China and have a powerful effect on the British people to rally them to the support of China in her desire to be free this year from a wicked & ruinous traffic.It is just what we need to command the attention of the world and begin our great campaign， in China， America and England to stop the opium evil this year.It can be done， will you help us? As I said， over 1,000 appeals came from the British people asking to set China free from the unrighteous treaty.They failed for China did not officially ask.Many said China would prefer the high revenue than to have freedom.I send you just one of those appeals of last year， all those and other societies will support you if you take a strong bold stand for the moral right of China now.It is our God gives opportunity.
