In the north of the foreyard of the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, there was a room 4m wide and 8m long, where Dr. Sun Yat-sen was born on November 12, 1866. After the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen was completed in 1892, the room was changed into a kitchen and a well was dug there. In 1913, Sun Mei expanded the backyard and added a kitchen there before demolishing this room.
