Yang Rishao


 

Yang Rishao(1918~1942), from Cuiheng Village, graduated from the rural normal school of Zhongshan County in 1936, and later taught at Guanghou Primary School in today’s Sanxiang Town. After joining the CPC in 1938, he worked for the CPC using his teacher identity as a cover. From 1940 to 1942, he served as a squadron leader of the Wugui Mountain Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Detachment, adjutant and deputy leader of the Liang Boxiong Brigade, and leader of the first squadron of the detachment led by the CPC Nanhai-Panyu-Shunde County Committee.

In May 1942, the Wugui Mountain Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Detachment organized a special assaulton Fuxu led by Xie Liquan, Tan Guiming and Ou Chu to support and assist the Liang Boxiong Brigade, and counter the mopping-up operation of the ninth area by Japanese and puppet troops. Tan Guiming and squadron leader Yang Rishao were responsible for front attack. The battle was completely victorious, in which all forces of a puppet police station and a puppet troop company were eliminated quickly. Yang Rishao was still shooting with a machine gun despite of a serious injury during the battle, and later died in the transfer for emergency treatment.
