The Cuiheng Gate was formerly the east gate of Cuiheng Village, built in Year 14 of Qing Emperor Guangxu’s reign (1888), and is now well preserved. It is in a masonry structure, 6 meters wide, 4.45 meters high and 0.5-meter thick, and there is a stone plaque on the lintel. There were four gates on four sides in Cuiheng Village. These gates were open in the daytime, closed at night, and reinforced with thick wood columns to guard against bandits and robbers, and protect the villagers. As one of the public security measures of the village, the gate reflected the reality that the Pearl River was increasingly developed and banditsand robbers prevailed in modern times. In 2004, this gate was listed as an immovable cultural relic of Zhongshan City.
