Yang Qihuai’s former residence was built during Qing Emperor Tongzhi’s reign, with three yards and three bays, symmetric about the central axis, with blue brick walls and a gabbled roof. There was a backyard called Yunyuan, and its relic remains today. There are some Arenga pinnata and kapok trees in the backyard. In every spring, the trees are full of dazzling huge red flowers. It is one of the representativehistorical buildings in Cuiheng Village. Owner Yang Qihuai (1831~1874), also known as Junguang or Guanqian, appointed as afive-rankministerby imperial mandate, and this residence is also known as “Residence Six” because Yang Qihuai ranks sixth among his brothers.
