发布时间:2020-08-08

The ancestors of the Hakkas in Wugui Mountain region migrated to inhabit the mountainous areas of Zhongshan from the Central Plains in ancient times. Baikou Lianshan songs constitute a form of oralexpressing culture and are sung extensively by Hakkas for self amusement. Using the melodies of salty water songs, these songs are sung with Hakka Cantonese and have combined the cultures of Hakka and Tanka. The singing is highly impromptu and involves topics of love, production, life and feelings. As an important element of Lingnan music, the songs take the form of tea picking tunes, chantingfeelings, intonatingflowers and emotions, and singingdoggerels. In 2007, the songs were included into the second batch of the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Guangdong Province.
