The 1911 Revolution Memorial Park

Covering about 1.33 hectare of land with a total investment of RMB 35 million yuan, this thematic park has integrated the characteristic elements of Sun Yat-sen, the 1911 Revolution, the centennial commemoration of the 1911 Revolution and leisure travels, and embodies a combinationofboth Chinese and Western styles inthe architectural design. In addition to the carefully planted and arranged flowers, grasses and trees, there are also long corridors of Chinese style built with grey tiles and bricks, a domed pavilion of Western style, relievos and stone statues. All the pavements in the park are covered with petty small stones. An artificial canal runs around the central lawn of the entire park. The design of the park drew on the characteristic arrangements in some "royal" courtyards of the UK and Japan to highlight the combination of commemoration and leisure.
