Crane Song - Folk Music
Prevalent in Shenmingting Village, Shaxi Town, Zhongshan City, crane songs are ballads that evolved from school ballads. As the oral culture chanted by the villagers, they are sung with Canton dialect, Shiqi dialect and Fujian dialect. The words focus on historical subjects and people's everyday labor, life and happy events. They are generally performed together with the crane dance. In 2007, crane songs were included into the first batch of the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Zhongshan.
