Huangbu Kylin Dance - Folk Dance

The dance is prevalentin Huangbu Town and Sanjiao Town within the territory of Zhongshan. It was originally the ancient totemism of ancient people and later evolved into a folk dance for celebration, with refinement, agility and might as its characteristics. Traditionally, the dance is performed to liven things up when a new house is completed in a village, a couple gets married, a new boat is launched, a new shop begins doing business and an important day arrives. The form of expression includes movements made on the ground and in the air to catch the vegetable. In 2007, it was included into the second batch of the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Guangdong Province.
