Changgeng Gate

The Changgeng Gate is the west gate of Cuiheng Village, built in Year 14 of Qing Emperor Guangxu’s reign (1888), and is now well preserved. It is in a masonry structure, 6 meters wide, 4.45 meters high and 0.5-meter thick, and there is a stone plaque on the lintel. It is said that in 1892, Sun Yat-sen and Lu Haodong tested their self-made explosive under this gate, and made a crack in the stone plaque, which is still seen today. In 2004, the gate was listed as an immovable cultural relic of Zhongshan City.
