The Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen is a person’s memorial hall with focus on the Former Residence of Dr. Dr. Sun Yat-sen – a national key protected cultural relic, and one of the first national Class 1 museums and national 5A scenic spots. We are committed to the solicitation, collection, preservation, management, exhibition, education and research of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and his period, for the public to deeply know more about China’s modern history, society and culture. In order to enrich our collections and carry out operations more effectively, thereby further promoting the development of our city’s cultural relics and museology, we solicit the following cultural relics extensively from the public all the year round:
[Scope of Solicitation]
1. Real objects, literature, pictures, videos, files, other cultural relics and information, etc. related to Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and the revolutionary movement led by him;
2. Real objects, literature, pictures, videos, files, other cultural relics and information, etc. related to the Suns’ relatives and clan in Cuiheng;
3. Real objects, literature, pictures, videos, files, other cultural relics and information, etc. related to modern Chinese historical events and figures;
4. Real objects, literature, pictures, videos, files, other cultural relics and information, etc. reflecting lives of modern overseas Chinese;
5. Stamps, first-day covers, entire covers, postcards, letters, postal supplies and other collections related to Dr. Sun Yat-sen published in different periods worldwide;
6. Coins, bonds, tax receipts, etc. published during the Republican China period;
7. Articles related to Cuiheng Village and the Pearl River Delta’s folk culture.
[Modes of Solicitation]
1. Donation
For any article appraised by an expert to be eligible for collection, a collection certificate will be awarded. A special reward and media coverage are offered as the case may be. Any donation used will be indicated with the donator’s name.
2. Purchase
Any cultural relic eligible for collection is to be purchased under an agreement through expert appraisal.
3. Custody
We can keep collections in custody on a confidential basis. Any article in custody is owned by the client, and will be used by us according to the agreement with the client.
An individual or social organization offers a duplicate (mimic), or a high-definition photo and the size to us for duplication (imitation) by us.
[Collections and Utilization]
Solicited collections will be collected by our museum permanently, and kept and used by our museum properly on the principle of scientific management and rational utilization.
