Yang Yin’s former residence

Yang Yin’s former residence is located in Cuiheng Village, Nanlang Town, built around Year 14 of Qing Emperor Guangxu’s reign (1888), with a floor area of about 950 square meters in total, and a floor area of 166 square meters in the main building, being the former residence of early CPC revolutionary leader and famousworkers' movement leader- martyr Yang Yin. Yang Yin’s former residence is a typical masonry timber building with three bays and two corridors. It has three halls and two gallery rooms, the bedrooms on both sides are divided into two floors by boards, and the kitchen and the grain processing room are on the left. The building has a granite slab foundation, blue brick walls, a gabbled roof, exquisite eaves boards, and Western-style teakwood louvers. The window heads have Western-style plaster molded ornaments of local characteristic fruit, such as litchi, bergamot and starfruit. There is a full set of mahogany armchairs of the Qing dynasty in the main halls, and the god loft has exquisite and splendid wood carvings with a bright lacquer. There are still signs of robber digging in the late Qing dynasty and gun shooting during the Anti-Japanese War on the outer walls. The indoor reproducesfurnishings used when martyr Yang Yin lived here, and hasthe Yang Yin martyr Memorial Exhibition.

In June 1989, Yang Yin’s former residence was listed as a key protected cultural relic of Guangdong Province.
