Paper, one piece, 4 pages.On March 6, 1911, Huang Xing, Zhao Sheng and Hu Hanmin wrote to Dr. Sun Yat-sen to report the preparation for the Guangzhou Uprising. Dr. Sun Yat-sen took this piece out of Nanjing when resigning from the office of Provisional President, and handed it to his eldest brother Sun Mei in Macao for keeping. It was later kept by Sun Mei's grandson Sun Man, and donated to us in December 1982. On April 27, 1911 (29th of Month 3 in the lunar calendar), Huang Xing, etc. initiated the Guangzhou Uprising, also known as the Huanghuagang Uprising or the Uprising on Day 29 of Month 3.
Huang Xing (1874-1916), also known as Keqiang, was from Changsha, Hunan. He was a chief leader of the Guangzhou Uprising, a companion and right hand of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
