Year 3 of Qing Emperor Tongzhi's reign

Paper, one page. The contract was entered into on the 12th of Month 2 of Year 3 of Qing Emperor Tongzhi's reign (1864) in the lunar calendar. Sun Dacheng (1813-1888) was father of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. He served as a shoemaker in Macao, and returned home for farming in his 30s. In the contract, Sun Dacheng, and his younger brothers Sun Xuecheng and Sun Guancheng would farm on ancestral mountain wasteland and open an orchard. This piece was formerly kept by Dr. Sun Yat-sen's family and later by Dr. Sun Yat-sen's elder sister Sun Miaoqian, and donated to us by Sun Miaoqian's grandson Yang Lianfeng in February 1957
