Yao Guanshun (1892-1951), born in a Chinese worker's family in the U.S., and returned to China to follow Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolution after graduation from Nawich Army College in a bid for a new China of the people, by the people and for the people. In the siege of the President Mansion during Chen Jiongming's coup, Yao Guanshun led the guards to fight the insurgents fiercely, and brought Soong Ching-ling out of danger. Seriously injured, he was admired for bravery and loyalty. In the eastern and northern expeditions, and other battles, Yao Guanshun made prominent contributions to eliminating warlords and defending the country..
